About Web Accessibility - Web accessibility is essentially a set of rules, behaviors, code standards, and design guidelines that were created by the W3C and are called the WCAG 2.1. The WCAG 2.1 is a massive 1,000-page guidebook that encapsulates a range of disabilities that go from hindering internet use to making internet use impossible without adjustments. This spectrum actually comprises 20-25% of the general population depending on if we're going with the CDC or WHO. There are many disabilities covered, and the primary categories that require attention are:
● blind people using screen-readers
● the motor-impaired using only the keyboard to navigate
● epilepsy, color blindness
● cognitive and learning disabilities
● visual impairments, and more
Google is placing more and more importance on ADA compliance on websites, and companies are seeing more lawsuits over ADA issues. Because of this, VisionAmp has been doing our own research and talking with industry experts, consultants, and companies that specialize in ensuring websites are fully ADA compliant. We want to help our clients avoid litigation or lawsuits because of ADA non-compliance.
Over the years, we have implemented many ADA compliance elements into every website we build like Alt tag fields on images, tab navigation, skip to main content, and other items. We work to build in as many tools as we can; however, our sites are dynamic which means you can update them. Maintaining compliance means that every time the website is updated there is potential for those changes to be non-compliant.

After much research, we have partnered with accessibe.com that offers a very intuitive, real-tme tool for ADA compliance. This tool has been highly researched, tested, and is installed and trusted on over 100,000 websites worldwide, including https://visionamp.com/ (see the little icon on the bottom left of our site).
This interface is a session-based design and UI adjustment tool that makes accessibility modifications based on a user's individual needs. The interface is designed to address accessibility requirements relating to the UI, design, and readability of your website. Users can choose a disability profile like “Visually Impaired Profile” and simultaneously activate all relevant adjustments. Alternatively, or in addition to the profiles, users can enable singular adjustments like increasing font sizes, change color contrasts, and stop animations.
All adjustments are compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA & AAA requirements.
- The AI machine learning technology uses contextual understanding and computer vision to address the complex, back-end requirements needed for screen reader and keyboard navigation adjustments.
- You will receive an accessibility statement, also visible within the interface, that confirms your website’s compliance status to all site visitors. It is important to note that one of the legal requirements of being ADA compliant is to have an accessibility statement that highlights your website's accessibility. This will provide an accessibility statement which also acts as a certificate of performance. It explains all the adjustments the solution has made to the website, browser, and assistive technology compatibility and describes how to report feedback.
The cost for this integration on your site will be $1000.00/year plus a one-time $125.00 fee to install. Please see the sign up form/contract down below. If you decide NOT to add this integration, please just sign the opt-out section of the form and send it back to susannah@visionamp.com, or send me an email opting out and I will print that and attach to your file.
